Casa Alitas Volunteer Opportunities

Casa Alitas in Tucson provides hospitality and humanitarian aid for asylum-seeking migrant families. These families have been released by ICE and Border Patrol to continue their journeys in the United States. Casa Alitas is sending out an urgent request for volunteers of all kinds. Volunteers help with everything from filling out intake forms, to trauma counselling, to helping with meals and clothing. A few of these tasks require Spanish, but many do not. And many of the opportunities to help can be carried out from home. Several of our own DCQC members are helping with meals and have told us that there is an urgent need for cleaning supplies. You can reach out to Debra Mallory for more information on how Quail Creek residents are coordinating their efforts at Debramallory@icloud.com. You can learn about volunteer opportunities here and can also contact Casa Alitas directly at alitasvolunteers@gmail.com.
