Support Our Community

We are stronger together.

Most of us participate in political activity not just for its own sake, but because we care deeply about other issues that require political solutions, like addressing poverty and hunger, climate change, criminal justice reform, immigration, or public education. Many of the organizations below have participated in our speaker series or are organizations that we support through volunteer efforts. While DCQC does not have formal partnerships with the groups below, we think they do terrific work and we know that many of our members are interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities with community organizations. Just click on the organization’s logo below and it will take you to their home page where you can learn more about their work, events, and ways to engage.

At our September Women in Blue lunch, we heard from April Richey, President and Director of Eagles Wings of Grace, an extraordinary group that helps women get clothing and other help they need to find a good job and take care of themselves and their families. You can see from the picture that we collected a mountain of clothing! We received a lovely note of thanks from the organization. Ladies, thank you so much for your remarkable generosity and be sure to check out the events page for our next Women in Blue Lunch.

Mark Your Calendars!

Tuesday, September 28 is Good Neighbor Day and November 5 is Mitzvah "Good Deed" Day. Both days are a celebration of neighbors, doing good works, and creating a sense of community. If you would like to find out more about these events and ways to contribute in our community, click on the links above or go to the GVC Foundation website.
