The November DCQC meeting will include presentations from Youth On Their Own and Casa Alitas. Both are looking for donations (money and supplies).
Youth On Their Own (YOTO) supports the high school graduation and continued success of youth experiencing homelessness in Pima County, and strives to eliminate barriers to education and empower housing insecure youth in our community to stay in school
Casa Alitas is a program of Catholic Community Services in Tucson. They provide humanitarian aid and support to asylum seekers recently released from ICE or the Border Patrol. Their goal is to provide a welcoming, comfortable, safe and healthy location for the guests to await their journeys, and to prepare them to reunite with family across the country.

October 2022 Adopt-A-Road Clean-up
On Friday, October 7, we'll meet at 8 AM in the parking lot between the Creative Arts and Technology Center and the Madera Clubhouse.
As always, we’ll work in teams of two: we'll finish no later than 9 am. Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, a hat and bring water.
Thanks to John Garcia from the Town of Sahuarita, everyone will receive all needed equipment including pickers, bags, gloves and safety vests.
Afterwards, we can celebrate our accomplishment with "One (Coffee) for the Road" at the Madera Clubhouse Coffee Bar.

Hubert Parker, is the Development Coordinator for Tucson Wildlife Center since November 2021. The presentation will be about the role of the Tucson Wildlife Center (TWC). The center was established in 1998 by Lisa Bates and Peter Lininger and received its 501(c)(3) non-profit determination from the IRS in October 2002. Tucson Wildlife Center is dedicated to rescue, provide emergency medical care, and rehabilitation of sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife, for release back to their natural habitat, while promoting habitat protection and coexistence through education. We are the ONLY wildlife hospital in Southern Arizona. TWC cares for around 5,000 animals a year.

March 19th meeting of the DCQC
The March 19th meeting of the DCQC, Saturday March 19th at 3 PM, in the Kino Conference Center, will be a presentation on Madera Canyon.
“Madera Canyon - History, Present and Future.”
The presentation will focus on the canyon, the organization Friends of Madera Canyon, and the upcoming City Nature Challenge.
The biodiversity of the canyon and surrounding area is spectacular. More than 170 species have been described based on specimens collected in the canyon.
Presenters will include Anita Woodward, Penny France, and John Murphy
