Ted Epperly, MD is the President and CEO of the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho and a graduate of Utah State University and the University of Washington School of Medicine. He is past President and Board Chair of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and the author of Fractured: America’s Broken Health Care System and What Must Be Done to Heal It. As President of the American Academy of Family Physicians, representing all 135,000 family doctors in the US, he spoke with Congress and the Obama administration about the creation of the Affordable Care Act, which expanded coverage to 23 million uninsured people.
