DCQC Speaker Series: Kino Border Initiative

  • Madera Clubhouse Silver Room 2055 East Quail Crossing Boulevard Green Valley, AZ, 85614 United States (map)

Please join us for an in-person discussion with Joanna Williams, Executive Director of Kino Border Initiative on Saturday, August 21, at 3:00 pm in the Madera Clubhouse Silver Room.  As the U.S. works its way towards urgently needed reforms in our immigration policies and system, the Kino Border Initiative remains committed to treating those on our borders with dignity and respect.  The organization is faith-based and works on both sides of the border – in both Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Sonora – to meet the humanitarian needs of both deported and arriving migrants who often have nowhere else to turn.  They also have an education and advocacy program to help people understand the human stories of migrant men, women, and children.

If you would like to support the Kino Initiative’s important work, please bring your checkbooks and we will gladly accept donations at the event. You can also make a donation by going to their website here.

To maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent spreading it to others, the CDC now recommends wearing a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission. Pima County is currently at a HIGH level of transmission. As we return to in-person events, let’s follow the science, wear masks, and all do our part to protect our community.
